Case Study 1: William Summerlin - "Painting the Mice" (1974)

Background: William Summerlin was a dermatologist conducting research in transplantation immunology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York under the supervision of renowned immunologist Robert Good.

The Claimed Research: Summerlin reported a major breakthrough: he could successfully transplant tissue between genetically unrelated animals (which normally would be rejected) by culturing the tissue in a special laboratory medium for 4-6 weeks.
